The Robinson Memorial Hospital Foundation announces four new board members to its Board of Directors. The new board members serving a term from May 1, 2013 through April 30, 2015, are Lois Enlow of Ravenna; John R. Gusz, M.D., of Hudson; and David Joy and Montgomery F. Miller, both of Kent.
Lois Enlow retired as Director/Deputy Director of the Portage County Board of Elections, having worked there from 1997 through 2009. She had taught home economics at the Ravenna City Schools, where she was also secretary for the high school principal. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Kent State University and also has done graduate studies at Kent State. She has been a volunteer at Robinson Memorial Hospital since 2010, during which time she has volunteered nearly 600 hours. Lois is also a member of the Auxiliary of Robinson Memorial Hospital, having served as the recording secretary. She is a member of the Portage County Republican Central Committee and had served as a volunteer for the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society.
Dr. John Gusz, of Portage Surgical Associates, Inc., has been affiliated with Robinson Memorial Hospital since 1996. He has served as Chairman of the Department of General Surgery and a member of many other committees. Dr. Gusz received his medical degree from Rutgers Medical School and did a surgical residency at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Prior to coming to Robinson Memorial Hospital, Dr. Gusz was a surgeon at the Ireland Army Community Hospital in Fort Knox, KY, where he was Chief of the Department of Surgery, among many other appointments. He has earned many military awards, medals, ribbons and decorations. He holds numerous professional memberships, has written many publications and given many presentations throughout the country.
David Joy has been employed with The Davey Tree Expert Company for more than 44 years, 37 years as District Manager for the East Cleveland full service market. He is a certified arborist for the International Society of Arboriculture and a certified commercial applicator for the Ohio Department of Agriculture. He is a graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School, attended Kent State University, and is a graduate of The Davey Institute of Tree Science. He received The Davey Tree Outstanding Manager Award and served on The Davey Tree President’s Council. Dave served in the United States Army in Korea and Germany. He is a past member of the Town Hall II Board of Directors and the Kent Jaycees. He is on the Porthouse ACT and School of Theatre and Dance Advisory Board, the Kent Roosevelt Alumni Committee, and has been involved with the Kent State Athletics Scholarship Campaign. He has previously served as a committee member for the Robinson Memorial Hospital Jewel of Portage County Gala.
Montgomery F. Miller is Chief Executive Officer of ASW Properties, Ltd., in Akron, a real estate investment and development company with affiliated operations in logistics and supply chain management services. This company has been involved in numerous regional development projects, including the CAK Industrial Park in Green and Spicer Village townhomes in Akron. Monty is a lifelong area resident who was born in Ravenna and graduated from Ravenna High School. After honorable discharge from the United States Air Force, he attended The University of Akron graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He has worked with Touche Ross & Company’s Akron office; Brott, Mardis & Co., and was eventually elected a partner and leader of their financial services audit practice. He has been employed by Akron Storage and Warehouse Services since 1988 and currently serves as CEO. During his time at ASW, the organization has experienced significant growth and expansion becoming a multi-state business involved in supply chain management, contract manufacturing, transportation and distribution and material handling. Additionally, a comprehensive real estate segment was established to design, construct, manage and invest in various development projects. His community and professional service positions have included the International Warehouse and Logistics Association, The University of Akron College of Business Advisory Board, Summit Workforce Solutions, Heart to Heart Communications and Leadership Akron.
Appointed for another three-year term on the Foundation Board are the following board members: Karen Horky, of Aurora; Ruth Saltzman, R.N., of Kent; Neil Mann, Jr., and Bill White, both of Ravenna.

Stepping down from the Board is Thomas Strachan, M.D., of Akron.
