Mary Adamson, BSN, MSN, CNM of Northeast Ohio OB/GYN in Ravenna delivered her first, second generation baby last month.
New mom, McKayla Mathis gave birth to Kaden Wasko on April 27, 2013. Grandmother, Paula Bevington recalls just 18 years ago in 1994, being in the Birth Center at Robinson when Mary delivered McKayla. Paula and new mom, McKayla were thrilled that Mary was able to be a part of both their deliveries.
“Attending McKayla's birth was such a thrill,” Mary stated. “I still remember assisting her mother through her labor and the birth of McKayla during a busy Christmas season early in my career. Watching Paula become a grandmother was rather surreal – she still looks like a young mother herself.”
Mary has been a nurse for 42 years, with 35 years in maternal-child nursing. Mary began her career in midwifery 20 years ago, when she received her Certificate of Nurse Midwifery from Case Western Reserve University.
“I began my career at Robinson Memorial in 1993 and have “guided” nearly 1,400 women through labor and birth, as well as caring for many women throughout the lifecycle,” stated Mary. “I am especially honored to be practicing in the hospital where I and my three children were born.”
