Vicki Brosius, BSN, RN, CCDS, Peggy Callan, RN, CCDS, CDIP, and Mary Smith, BSN, RN, ACM of Robinson Memorial Hospital’s Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) team were selected to present their research poster, “Joining Forces in Clinical Documentation Excellence,” at The 6th Annual ACDIS National Conference, May 21-23, 2013 in Nashville, TN.
The Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS) is a community in which clinical documentation improvement professionals share strategies for successful programs and achieve professional growth. ACDIS' mission is to serve as the premier healthcare community for clinical documentation specialists, providing a medium for education, professional growth, program recognition, and networking.
Brosius, Callan, and Smith developed the poster to educate physicians and staff during Clinical Documentation Improvement Week in September 2012.
The poster contained education and data demonstrating the importance of accurate clinical documentation within the medical record. Proper clinical documentation has a significant impact on the patient, physician and the hospital as a whole.
“Our team was very proud to represent Robinson Memorial Hospital at the conference,” stated Callan. “Our poster represented Robinson Memorial’s high standard for quality within our clinical documentation.”
