Clerical Assistance
Minimum age – 14
Mon-Fri, between 8 - 4:30 pm; hours and locations vary as available. Duties may include filing, collating, copying, computer data entry, preparing mailings, etc. Examples of department/location areas include Aurora Medical Arts Building, Human Resources, Health Education, Marketing, Sleep Lab, Patient Finance, Organizational Development, Streetsboro Family Practice.
Department Mail Service
Minimum age – 16
Mon-Fri, 9am-2pm. Assist with sorting and delivery of mail, 3 times during the day to all departments in the hospital; involves much walking.
Dispatch/Escort Desk
Minimum age – 16
Mon-Fri, 8-12am or 12-4pm. Take calls at front desk from nursing areas for needed transporter, lab deliveries, etc.; mostly sitting job for someone with a good phone skills.
Emergency Department Information & Triage
Minimum age – 18 or at the discretion of manager
Sun-Sat, 8-12am, 12-4pm, 4-8pm, 8-midnight. Provide friendly welcome and information to patients and visitors in the Emergency Department. Enhance guest relations. Initiate registration to Triage Area. Provide non-medical assistance to staff.
Volunteers at Your Service
Minimum age – 16
Need: M-F, 4:00 – 8:00 pm (flexible evening hours) and weekends. Volunteer answers “Volunteers at Your Service” phone line and is on call to nursing units for patient discharge, lab deliveries, pharmacy needs, etc.
Gift Shop
Minimum age – 14; 16 for Cashier duties
Sun – Sat; during Gift Shop hours. Assist stocking shelves, pricing, cleaning, cashier.
Lifeline Installer
Minimum age – 18
Install Lifeline units in patients’ homes. A program of the Auxiliary of Robinson Memorial Hospital. Training provided through the Auxiliary.
Medical Records
Minimum age – 14.
Mon-Sun, Flexible hours. Provide clerical support for the staff; deliver medical charts.
Messenger Service
Minimum age – 16
Mon-Fri, 9am-2pm. Deliver specimens to Lab; deliver interoffice communication among nursing units; file doctors’ reports, etc. Involves much walking.
Nursing Unit
Minimum age – 16
Sun-Sat, 8am-7pm. Flexible hours. Assist by keeping water pitchers filled, stocking cupboards, talking with patients, answering call lights, running errands, etc. Requires attending additional training class.
Outpatient Surgery Assistant
Minimum age – 18
Mon-Fri, 8am-12pm. Assist out patient surgery staff with support services. Assist with admitting, preparing carts, stocking shelves, etc.
Pastoral Care Assistant
Minimum age – 18
Sun-Sat, flexible hours. Under the supervision of the hospital chaplain, visit patients and provide spiritual support as needed.
Radiology Patient Assistant
Minimum age – 16
Mon-Fri, 8-12am, 12-4pm, 4-8pm. Assist patients with pick up of x-rays, take patients to dressing rooms and instruct patient on proper attire, miscellaneous duties.
Red Cross Blood Drive Registration or Canteen
Minimum age – 14
Varied dates – majority on last Mondays and Tuesdays of the month; 3 hour shifts between 12pm and 7pm. Assist American Red Cross staff with donor registration and/or canteen assistance during hospital’s monthly blood drives.
Receptionist - Main Lobby Information Desk
Minimum age – 18 or at discretion of Manager
Sun-Sat, 8-12am, 12-4pm or 4-8pm. Greet visitors; provide patient
information in person and by phone; direct visitors in the hospital to
various departments for testing and visiting patients; involves using a
computer.
Receptionist - Robinson Health Center at Kent
Minimum age – 18
Mon-Fri, 8-12am or 12-4pm. Welcome patients at the Robinson Health Center at Kent; direct patients and visitors.
Receptionist - Robinson Medical Arts Building
Minimum age – 16
Mon-Fri, 8am-12 or 12-4pm. Greet visitors and direct to appropriate offices/departments. Use computer for information. Assist with transport of patients/visitors as needed.
Surgical Waiting Room
Minimum age – 18
Mon –Fri, 7am-12 or 12-4pm. Maintain communication between patients going into surgery, their families, the physician, and the operating room staff. Provide a pleasant atmosphere for waiting families.
Transporter and Escort– Main Lobby
Minimum age – 16
Mon-Fri, 8am-12 or 12-4pm. Transport patients to be discharged; assist visitors to designated departments; deliver mail and flowers to patient rooms.
Transporter - Robinson Professional Center
Minimum age – 16
Mon-Fri, 8am-12 or 12-4pm. Transport patients discharged from outpatient surgery; assist in clean bed-making.
